He loves to fish and spend time with his dad, grandma, and grandpa!

He doesn't do much fish touching yet--he gets the "fish fear" from his mom.

These are my children's great grandparents!  I hope I tell them often how lucky they are to have the opportunity to know them.  They are both wonderful people with huge, loving hearts.  It was great to see them over the holiday weekend.  Hugs and love to you, Grandma Patty and Grandpa Larry!

If I had a spare $200 $150 (it's cheaper than I thought), I'd get one of these for my sister...

Or one for me!

I felt a little really bad about writing a story about the girls, so I wrote one about Hunt as well.  This one also got entered in the Cheerios Spoonfuls of Stories contest--good luck to me!

Try, Try Again by Amy Harris 2010

If I fall down and scrape my knee when I’m playing soccer, I will get up and try, try again!

If I draw a picture and it doesn’t look quite right, I will get a new piece of paper and try, try again!

If I don’t get to the next level on my video game, I will restart and try, try again!

If I tie my shoes and they come untied when I stand up, I will sit down and try, try again!

If I make my bed and my little sisters come in and jump on it, I will jump for a bit, too, and then try, try again!

If I make myself a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and all the jelly squishes out, I will pick up the butter knife and try, try again!

If the dog runs out of the bathroom in the soapy middle of his bath, I will chase him down and try, try again!

If I spell my name wrong at the top of my paper, I will use my eraser and try, try again!

If my head goes underwater and I get a mouthful while I’m trying to learn to swim, I will rest at the edge of the pool and then try, try again!

If I give my mom and dad a kiss and hug goodnight and still need a couple more, I will try, try again!

I submitted a story to the "Spoonfuls of Stories" New Author contest. Here's hoping I win--$5000 and a published book to boot!

Times Two: A Story About Twins by Amy Harris, 2010

When you get into the kitchen cabinets, you make a huge mess—times two!

When you splash in the bathtub, the bathroom is dripping wet—times two!

When you eat spaghetti, your high chair is covered in sauce—times two!

When you play in the mud, your clothes are brown—times two!

When you throw a fit in the grocery store, it is loud—times two!

BUT…
When you see your baby cousin, you give her lots of hugs—times two!

When you hear Grandpa or Grandma come in the door, your little feet run to see them—times two!

When you finish singing your favorite song, you smile and clap your hands—times two!

When you put on your own shoes, you are proud of yourself—times two!

And when you say, “I love you,” you make me so happy—times two!

She's done! Jordan the felt doll and her new self (as she's come to be called around here) is finally done (a bit late for my niece's birthday, but still...)! She has three complete outfits and is SO cute. My girls (and my boy) are already asking where their felt doll is at. Guess I know what I'm doing this summer. Felt, I love you!

This is Jordan and her felt wardrobe!

A shift dress in hot pink and purple with coordinating flats.

A bright yellow tank, a purple jacket, some blue jeans, and brown boots.

She's an OSU fan, can you tell?

Her hair is done in two small buns with white ribbon bow accents.  She's adorable just like the real Jordan!

I finally found out how to cross out text I didn't like or wanted to change while still displaying the original.  I love easy tutorials for stuff I don't know how to do.  Then I look smart intelligent!

That was done by using HTML code to type in the "strike" areas. I also (a little late) saw a "strikethrough" button on the toolbar...ABC

You can do it yourself by typing the < then the word 'strike' (no quotes or spaces) then >. Next put the word or phrase you want to strike through, for example 'smart' (no quotes) and follow up with < then / then the word 'strike' (no quotes or spaces in any of this) then > That should do it! Or just use that handy strikethrough button on the toolbar...*sigh*

Felt Doll Fail is officially a Save!  I'm still working on finishing up several more pieces of clothing, but here's the work in progress (she needs to be ready by tomorrow afternoon to travel with grandma to the birthday girl).
